Embracing Artistic Exploration: A Journey of Growth and Abundance

As artists, and humans we should seek new ways to express ourselves and expand our creative horizons. At the heart of this journey lies exploration – the willingness to step into the unknown, to push the boundaries of our comfort zones, and to embrace the endless possibilities of artistic expression.  Sounds daunting, doesn’t it? Let me tell you why I think it’s worth it!

One of the most valuable aspects of exploration is the opportunity to experiment with different styles and subjects. By stepping outside of our familiar territory, we open ourselves up to new techniques, perspectives, and inspirations. Whether it's delving into abstract art, exploring traditional mediums, or experimenting with digital design, each new exploration adds depth and richness to our artistic toolkit.

"Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still." - Carl Sagan

Exploration is a powerful tool for breaking free from creative limitations. Too often, I find myself  confined by self-imposed boundaries or societal expectations. So I have decided to shift my thinking and start embracing exploration. I am giving myself permission to challenge these limitations and unlock my creative potential!  Exploration opens up an opportunity for growth, whether it's mastering a new technique, gaining a deeper understanding of artistic principles, or discovering my own strengths and weaknesses as an artist.

Exploration is also about embracing abundance – the belief that there is always more to discover, more to create, and more to experience! Instead of approaching my artistic journey with a scarcity mindset, where I feel limited by time, resources, or talent, I am choosing to see the world through the lens of abundance. By recognizing that creativity knows no bounds, and that there is always room for growth, innovation, and collaboration.

Personal Commitment: 365 Days of Pattern Design

On a personal note, I've made the commitment to embark on a journey of exploration through pattern design. For the next 365 days, I will challenge myself to create a new pattern every day, guided by a series of design prompts. This daily practice will not only sharpen my skills as a designer but also inspire me to explore new techniques, themes, and aesthetics. Through this commitment, I hope to foster a mindset of growth and abundance, embracing the endless possibilities of artistic expression.

I hope you will join me.

Lets walk in abundance and create all the things!
