The Power of Reading Inspiring Books
"Birds Art Life: A Year of Observation" by Kyo Maclear: “In this contemplative memoir, Kyo Maclear chronicles her journey of birdwatching as a means of finding solace and connection in the midst of urban life. Through lyrical prose and evocative observations, "Birds Art Life" invites readers to slow down, pay attention to the beauty of the natural world, and discover the profound joy and wonder that can be found in the simple act of observing birds.”
This book, for me, is one I would describe as the perfect book to read while curled up on the couch with a warm cup of tea. Looking at life through her lens -drawing quiet inspiration from the world around us. Taking the time to slow down and really be present.
"The Art of Aliveness" by Flora Bowley: “One of the book's most compelling aspects is Bowley's emphasis on creativity as a vehicle for self-expression, healing, and personal growth. Drawing on her background as an artist, Bowley encourages readers to tap into their innate creative potential and cultivate a deeper connection to their intuition, passions, and desires.”
I read the Art of Aliveness at a time of huge change in my creative career, I felt as if Bowley was speaking directly to me, "The Art of Aliveness" is a soul-nourishing guide to living a more authentic, creative, and vibrant life. Her insightful reflections, and practical exercises, invites you to awaken to the beauty and wonder of the present moment, and embrace the art of living fully alive.
"How to Style Your Brand: Everything You Need to Know to Create a Distinctive Brand Identity" by Fiona Humberstone: “Fiona Humberstone's comprehensive guide to brand styling is an invaluable resource for entrepreneurs and creatives seeking to craft a compelling and cohesive brand identity. I find myself referring back to this book when I need a refresh or update on all things branding. A must read for any creative entrepreneur.
"In the Company of Women: Inspiration and Advice from over 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs" by Grace Bonney: “Featuring interviews with over 100 diverse women from various creative industries, "In the Company of Women" celebrates the achievements, struggles, and wisdom of female makers, artists, and entrepreneurs.
